The fully electric Abarth 500e has received the accolade of The Car Experts' "Best New Small Car 2024" thanks to its fun and ease of use.
The winner of the Car Expert Award are determined by pulling together the ratings of new cars given by 35 of the UK’s top automotive outlets, which should precisely represent the overall views of the expert journalists that reviewed each of the years cars. For the Abarth 500e, the brand’s first full EV offering triumphed above the competition.
Editorial Director at The Car Expert, Stuart Masson, commented: “Many people thought that electric cars might be the end of Abarth, but the new 500e has proved the doubters well and truly wrong. Like its petrol predecessors, the Abarth 500e takes the fine starting point of a Fiat 500 and transforms it into a real pocket rocket that’s fun to drive and full of character – just as you’d expect from any car wearing the Scorpion badge.

The Abarth 500e comes stocked with a 42kWh battery alongside a powerful e-motor capable of producing 113.7kW/155PS and 235Nm of torque, expanding and innovating on electric mobility, in a time when transitioning to electric motability is more important than ever thanks to expanding Low Emissions Zones across the UK. It can achieve 0-62mph in 7 seconds, alongside a city driving range of up to 224 miles.
The Abarth 500e is the first and only city car that comes with a Sound Generator. This feature is there for drivers that don’t want to lose Abarth’s signature – the unmistakable "roar" of an Abarth engine. The Sound Generator complements the powertrain performance, reproducing the sound of an Abarth petrol engine.
