Comic Relief
We kicked off 2017 by purchasing red noses for all sites for Comic Relief, which is not only for a great cause but also a fantastic day, one where every site, employee and customer got involved! We raised a fantastic £3,089.86!
Giving something back
Robins & Day Limited take pride in giving something back. Not only because it raises valuable funds for the charities close to our hearts, but because our employees are always happy to go that extra mile, creating the fun, engaging workplace everyone should strive for!
With that in mind, we have decided to create a section demonstrating the commitment to the community shown by all our employees, to tell you a little more about the incredible fundraising taking place, and in hope that everyone who hears about that will feel motivated to join in and do their bit too!
What we did in 2017
In 2017 we raised and donated over a whopping £15,000 to fantastic causes. Here is a snapshot of some of the events that took place!
Jeans for Genes
Jeans for Genes Day is the annual fundraising campaign for Genetic Disorders UK. We joined in to help raise money to fund the work of the charity and provide grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders. Here are some of our sites enjoying the day!
Children in Need
In 2017 we held our first ‘Cycle Challenge’ to support Children in Need. We purchased exercise bikes and challenged the sites to pedal as far as they could during the day. The 3 sites that covered the greatest distance received a Lunch of Champions, as well as an additional contribution to Children in Need. We also gave donations to the ‘best dressed’ employees, then auctioned off the bikes to the highest bidder to increase our final donation total to £7,009.67!
Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day
Our final charity event of the year got us all in the festive spirit to raise money for another great cause! Employees were invited to don their best festive gear in return for a donation to ‘Save The Children’.
Along with those arranged charity fundraisers, the sites themselves get busy throughout the year raising money for all kinds of admirable causes.
Employees from Robins & Day Preston cycled the “Way of the Roses” Coast to Coast. The team have so far raised over £700 for their Charity, The Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Robins & Day Glasgow spent the year fundraising for a variety of charities, raising over £3,350! Fund raising and good deeds are never far from their mind, here are some of the activities they have completed during 2017:
Pedal for Scotland for Strathcarron Hospice
Breakfast rolls for a local charity
Skydive for Beatson Cancer
Delivering Christmas Dinners to local community
Supporting several local schools
Robins & Day Birmingham North and Head Office raised over £1,000 for the British Heart Foundation climbing Mount Snowdon!
Who are we supporting in 2018
Our sites across the UK will continue to fundraise to help all these causes, along with local charities selected by the dealerships in 2018. Keep your eyes peeled here for more information on how we have chosen to be creative for our charity fundraising this year!
