COVID-19 – WHAT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

At Robins & Day, for over 100 years, we have always put our customers and our employees at the heart of everything we do.  With daily updates on Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and information changing rapidly, I want to reassure you that we are doing everything in our power to keep both you and our staff safe.

Following the statement from the Prime Minister on the evening of Monday 23rd March around Covid-19 please see the below update:

Sales

  • Robins & Day dealership sales functions are now physically closed until further notice.
  • If you are currently waiting for your new car order, our sales advisors will have tried to make contact with you but if you did not hear from us or have any questions around the delivery of your vehicle, please contact us.
  • For customer orders taken in March that were unable to be delivered in March, we will honour your offer for deliveries, following government guidelines on COVID-19 in April/May.
  • Our centralised call centre will be working remotely and they will continue to answer all incoming calls. You can contact them on 02476 851 458 for sales enquiries.

Aftersales

  • Support for Key Workers/Fleets

    We have selected key sites where the Aftersales Depts will remain open, with reduced resource, to specially support vehicles of Critical Workers and Key Fleets. This includes NHS, other front-line and care staff as well as Fleets involved in essential deliveries, food, medical supplies, security services, parcel deliveries, & emergency services

    This is for work such as breakdown & emergency repairs, safety recalls and other essential work.

  • All aftersales departments will complete work for key workers and will be closed from Friday 27th March.
  • If your vehicle is currently with us at one of our sites, our aftersales team will be in contact with you.
  • Our centralised call centre will be working remotely and they will continue to answer all incoming calls. You can contact them on 02476 851 464 for aftersales enquiries.

The teams will also remain available on e-mail via our online enquiry form or via live chat. We have tried to answer any questions you might have around your vehicle needs, but please contact us if you do have any further questions.

During these unprecedented times, we ask for your patience while we work to ensure that our customers are contacted as quickly as possible.

The health and wellbeing of all our customers and colleagues is our highest priority and we will continue to do all we can to support you during this time.

Aftersales FAQ’s

My Service is due in the near future, am I going to invalidate my warranty by not having it completed?

To help support you through this COVID-19 period, PSA have announced that they will increase the service interval tolerance to 1,800 miles or 3 months after the recommendation of the maintenance plan.

My cars MOT is due to expire soon, how can I keep my vehicle road legal?

Don’t worry the government have today announced a 6 month extension on all vehicles with MOT’s due on the 30th March onwards. If your MOT expires this week contact the sites booking team and we will try to support as best possible. For more info on DVSA changes click here

My manufacturer’s warranty is due to expire soon, but I have noticed that there is a manufacturing defect with my vehicle, how can I have this repair carried out under warranty?

In order to provide the most comprehensive support possible PSA has deployed an override policy during COVID-19 uncertainty, the result of this is at a minimum your warranty will be extended by 1 month to cover this forecasted period of lockdown. 

I have a service contract that covers the cost of my vehicle maintenance, but it is due to expire in the next few weeks, how do I prevent having to pay for this maintenance?

Similarly to the actions taken on manufactures warranty policy, PSA Maintenance Schemes will have their period of coverage extended by up to 3 months allowing ample time to have all necessary works paid for at no cost.

My vehicle is at a Robins & Day site right now having some remedial works carried out, what happens next?

All customers whom have a vehicle with ongoing repairs will be contacted directly by the Aftersales teams at the relevant site. We have been allowed a period to complete remedial works until Friday 27th March therefore we are very hopeful that your vehicle will be repaired in this time frame, however, we will manage every situation on a case by case basis and be in constant communication throughout the remainder of this week. We must stress when you know that your vehicle is repaired, please arrange for it to be collected ASAP.

My vehicle is repaired but I am unable to collect it due to being self-isolated as per government guidelines, how do I get my car back before the workshop closes?

Robins & Day has a myriad of options available to support you through this particular issue, but, in order to apply the most suitable one our advice would be to contact the Aftersales Department currently in care of your vehicle and they will make sure to the best of their ability arrangements are made to get your vehicle back to you.  

Will I still be able to get Parts for my vehicle?

Robins & Day operate 5 Distrigo Parts Hubs with over £15m of stock – these Hubs currently remain open for trade delivery business only, as indeed does the parts supply from the manufacturers.
