The 208 Tech Edition includes dark tinted rear and side windows and a chrome door mirror for extra style points. While technology such as connected 3D navigation, front and rear parking aid and a colour reversing camera improve driving safety. Automatic dual zone air conditioning makes it more comfortable for driver and passengers too. With the New Peugeot 208, there is a choice of petrol and diesel engines, starting with the turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine with 82 bhp. There’s also a more powerful 110 bhp version, which includes an automatic version complete with EAT6 transmission, the only automatic option currently in the New Peugeot 208 line-up.
At the top of the range is the 1.5-litre BlueHDi diesel model with 100 bhp. These offer the lowest emissions out of all Peugeot 208 options, delivering 97g/km of CO². Being over 100kg lighter than the Peugeot 207 helps make every model more fuel efficient than its predecessor.
In 2011 the first Peugeot 208 cars were produced in Trnava, Slovakia. These were three-door hatchback models, but in 2012 the first five-door Peugeot 208 cars started to be manufactured in two French plants as well. As a replacement for the Peugeot 207, which ceased production in 2014, it is around 110kg lighter, has a larger boot volume of 285 litres and a more modern design.
Each trim comes with a choice of two or more engines, including at least one petrol and diesel option. Plus, there are a variety of colours to pick between. All models are available in solid hurricane grey as standard, with a variety of other colours that are both solid, metallic and pearlescent (at an extra cost) possible.
