Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport have teamed up to create the future of fun for Abarth fans with a new platform and technologies.
Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport proudly unveil the new collaboration seeking to set a new standard in the field of electric automation. From the collaboration comes the birth of the most powerful Abarth - a tribute to Abarth’s racing history. In fact, competitions have always been part of the brand's DNA. Thanks to their technological "transfer", the most innovative solutions, as revealed by thorough testing, have always been adopted on their production car models to ensure the best driving experience. The same holds true for Motorsport, the vital entity of the Stellantis Group responsible for the racing activities of the corporation's brands, divisions, and subsidiaries.
Furthermore, this partnership continues to enhance Abarth's DNA and makes use of the brand’s tradition and heritage in the racing field, blending many ingredients with Motorsport's expertise. Both groups are bringing their different, yet very similar backgrounds and histories to reach a common goal: improve the performance of road cars.
Together Abarth and Motorsport have created a platform formed from a distilled blend of technologies, racing expertise, engineering know-how, and thousands of hours of testing, giving life to this high-performance project: a new platform based on the well-known eCMP, now renamed Perfo-eCMP.
Every element has been analyzed, refined, and tuned by a joint team of engineers, experts, and testers from both Abarth and Motorsport to create the best package. The outcome is a beauty, a beast equipped with high-performance powertrain and a suspension system with a dedicated setup to secure handling, dynamic, and stability, as well as to trace the most effective trajectories and guarantee excellent racing dynamics in all kinds of conditions. To further contribute to the vehicles incredible performance, the new Abarth is also equipped with a unique limited slip differential, developed for the unique needs of a BEV powertrain and accommodated to its dynamic characteristics.
The result is Abarth's most powerful vehicle, a project who's cornerstones are innovation and extreme performance—one which is far greater than a simple tuning, but a new benchmark in the automotive landscape, and a great boon to the brand.
The new Abarth will be equipped with 240 hp and an advanced braking system, granting more power and stability to the vehicle thanks to larger brake discs and larger disc surfaces for better heat dissipation and fading resistance.
Developed from experiences within Formula E competitions, new tyres guaruntee maximum grip that doesn't compromise range and acoustics. Thanks to the softer compound tread on the exterior and center area, they provide extra grip when rounding corners and improved range, while the polyurethane insert ensures acoustic insulation (-20% perceived noise level).
Within, high-comfort seats with racing ergonomics make for a very comfortable ride even on the “most extreme journeys”. Made up of 4 different foams to optimize support for the whole body and improved seat durability, the high-performance seats feature an enveloping shape to contain bends and emphasize lateral support.
Overall, the teams have refined all the details to create a grand experience that ensures fun, performance, and safety, dedicated to all Abarth fans. Abarth continues its electrification journey while remaining extremely faithful to its roots, with performance being its focus.
