Citroen has developed Citroen Simply Drive to offer our customers a finance option that provides 3 years of motor insurance, routine servicing, roadside assistance, warranty and road fund licence, all included in one fixed monthly payment. Citroen Simply Drive is only available on Citroen models funded on personal contract purchase.
At the end of 3 years you then have the option to enter a new agreement on another new vehicle or choose another end of agreement option (as set out below).

In the unfortunate event of you being made redundant involuntarily, Citroen Financial Services will waive up to 6 monthly instalments giving you time to find alternative employment. If you are still unemployed after 6 waived instalments you are given the option to hand your vehicle back without further financial liability. (Subject to terms and conditions – see below)

Motor insurance premium
You will be charged a monthly motor insurance premium. Your premium will depend on the vehicle you have chosen, the age of the youngest named driver on the policy and your address. This premium will be fixed for the duration of your contract. You can add drivers during the term of the policy, subject to them meeting the eligibility criteria. If you do so, this may increase the monthly insurance premium collected by Citroen Financial Services. A maximum of three additional drivers can be added to the policy.
The premium for your insurance will be charged monthly and will be debited by Citroen Financial Services as part of your finance payment. Although collected in the same direct debit, your motor insurance premium is not financed, so is not subject to interest payments. If you settle your finance early and keep your Citroen, you can continue to pay the monthly insurance premium for the remaining term. You must notify Citroen Financial Services if you wish to do this.
Motor insurance information
The motor insurance policyholder must be the primary user of the vehicle. Generally this will be the same person as that named on the personal contract purchase agreement. If this is not the case, the finance agreement holder must be named on the motor insurance policy. The vehicle must be kept at the same address. You can name up to three additional named drivers on the policy. Drivers must meet the following eligibility requirements:
What is the service plan?
The service plan covers all routine servicing requirements as defined in your vehicle’s Servicing and Warranty Guide. It does not cover tyres or wear and tear maintenance items.
What roadside assistance services are provided?
Assistance from home: Citroen Assistance provides help if you have a problem with your Citroen at home (or within a ¼ mile of your home). If the problem cannot be put right there it will be transported to the nearest authorised repairer to you Roadside/Recovery: Assistance if a vehicle is stranded more than a ¼ mile from home following a breakdown. If repair at the roadside is not possible, onward passage can be arranged for up to seven passengers and the vehicle to your authorised repairer or any single destination in the UK Mainland or Northern Ireland.
Onward travel: In the event a vehicle is recovered under Citroen Recovery onward passage can be arranged for up to seven passengers to continue the journey. The AA may (at their discretion) choose to provide you with one of the following:

Payment waiver
The possibility of future unemployment can be a key concern for some individuals when considering whether to take on additional financial responsibility. Citroen Financial Services can ease those concerns. When you finance your vehicle with us we will waive up to six monthly payments, excluding balloon payments, should you be made involuntarily redundant during the term of your agreement. And should you still be unemployed after you have used your waiver allowance, we will give you the option to hand your vehicle back and walk away from your agreement without further financial liability.
Payment Waivers are only available to retail customers after the first 90 days of the agreement. You will have to have been in continuous full time employment for the 6 months immediately prior to involuntary redundancy and be up to date with your monthly payments.
Are the monthly payments fixed?
Yes. Citroen Simply Drive has a fixed term and monthly payments are fixed which could assists you manage your monthly budget.
Is my no claim discount protected?
If you are eligible for NCD Protection under Citroen Insurance's normal criteria, this will automatically be included in your policy.
Can i take my car abroad?
Yes but you’ll need to contact Citroen Insurance and Citroen Financial Services first as an additional premium may be required.
What is the warranty cover?
All new Citroen vehicles come with a 3 year manufacturer warranty up to 60,000 miles.
How does the payment process for road fund licence work?
Your first year of road fund licence is provided as part of the registration process for your new vehicle. Your dealer will provide you with a cheque to cover the cost of your second and third years’ car tax at the time you take delivery of your vehicle. The value of the cheque for the second and third years’ road fund licence is calculated using the Vehicle Tax Rates as published by HMRC at the time of purchase
What happens if the road fund licence increases in price for subsequent years?
The additional cost would have to be paid by you. However, if the cost reduces then you will benefit by retaining the difference.

The Citroen Simply Drive product is available for retail customers on Personal Contract Purchase - provided you are resident in Great Britain.
What happens at the end of a Citroen Simply Drive contract?
At the end of the three year period you have the following options:
i) Part - exchange the vehicle with your local Citroen dealer.
ii) Pay the optional GFV payment and own the vehicle outright
iii) Hand the car back to Citroen Financial Services. Subject to mileage and condition.
Do I need to do anything with the insurance if the delivery of my car has been delayed?
If the car is delayed you must contact Citroen Insurance to amend the Citroen Insurance policy BEFORE the policy start date and inform them of the revised delivery date. Failure to do so will mean you may not be covered for the full term. Or if you prefer, you can ask your Citroen dealer to contact Citroen Insurance on your behalf.
Who is eligible for Insurance?
Can additional drivers be included in the Citroen Simply Drive Insurance Policy?
Yes, up to a maximum of three named drivers are allowed in addition to the policyholder. These named drivers must meet the eligibility criteria and the policy covers only the use of your Citroen Simply Drive vehicle. How much is the insurance Excess?
Your excess is based on the youngest named driver on your policy (i.e. if you have a 22 year old named on your policy all claims, irrespective of the other drivers’ ages, will be subject to £500 excess) and is applicable per claim for any claim other than glass.

Can I take my car abroad?

Will I earn No Claim Discount (NCD)?
Yes, provided you do not make a fault or theft claim. Only the policy holder will earn the NCD, any additional drivers do not earn NCD.

Yes, Citroen Insurance will accept no claim discount earned as a company car driver provided that you can provide a letter from your employer or their company car scheme administrator on their company letter headed paper stating:
Which countries can Citroen Insurance collect No Claim Discount from?
Citroen Insurance can only accept no claim discount earned in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
Can I use named driver No Claim Discount or other No Claim Discount from someone else’s policy to apply?
You cannot use your NCD on more than one vehicle. The no claim discount you are using to support your Citroen Simply Drive Insurance application must be available to use from the start date of your Citroen Simply Drive Insurance policy.

Will my policy cover me for driving other cars?
Yes, you the policyholder may be covered on a third party basis for emergency use as defined in the motor insurance policy.
End of Contract? (and Early Settlements)
If the Citroen Simply Drive agreement is settled early you still have the option to keep your motor insurance going by continuing to pay your monthly insurance contribution. Your Servicing plan will be cancelled at the same time you early settle your agreement. You may not terminate any other service (except your Motor Insurance) during the initial three year term.
