Why the New Peugeot 3008 SUV is one of January's Most Exciting Releases

19 January 2017

January can often feel like the most miserable month of the year for many people, as the joys of Christmas subside and the bleak weather sets in. Yet there are plenty of things to get excited about this January, as the All-New Peugeot 3008 SUV is finally here. The brand-new addition to the Peugeot range is another fantastic SUV, with an enhanced exterior and interior design and a vehicle that delivers an improved driving experience. There are many reasons why it is one of the most exciting new vehicles released this month.

Striking Style

Gone is the safe, MPV style of the old Peugeot 3008. Now it’s all about aggressive styling, a powerful front and grille, with front to rear dotted with plenty of chrome detail that forms a striking appearance. A bolder and much sharper look is further emphasised by the 18-inch alloy wheels that come as standard.

On the inside, full leather seats are a dream, creating a comfy ride for passengers and driver alike. The chrome highlights from the exterior can be found around the centre control, adding that extra bit of quality. While different trim levels offer ambient lighting and a mix of materials.

Impressive Diesel and Petrol Options

As always, there are a broad range of options available, so you can find one that matches your style, budget and other requirements. Top of the range is the All-New Peugeot 3008 SUV GT model, with a 2.0 litre BlueHDi diesel engine, six speed automatic gearbox and 179bhp, while claiming an impressive 58.9mpg.

At the other end of the scale is the turbocharged 1.2 litre PureTech 3-cylinder petrol model. The cheapest engine option available, it still produces 129bhp and 117g/km CO², capable of 55.4mpg and with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. A 1.6 litre petrol model for the Allure and GT lines, and a diesel Active model are also for sale.

Ground-breaking Technology

The All-New Peugeot 3008 SUV features the i-Cockpit® interior, made-up of a 12.3-inch digital instrument display along with an 8-inch touchscreen positioned high on the dash. Everything from a sat-nav map to infotainment options, climate control and more can be controlled through these and with the steering-wheel mounted controls.

Standard models upwards all feature Apple CarPlay® and Mirrorlink®, so you can link up with your smartphone. While the Allure trim includes TomTom live updates to the sat-nav. Even the engines use innovative technology, such as the BlueHDi diesel and PureTech petrol ones to make them highly environmentally-efficient.

Award-Winning Vehicle

Despite only just arriving, the All-New Peugeot 3008 SUV has already picked up a string of awards, including the Carbuyer Car of the Year 2017. It won in the Best SUV category too, as well as winning the What Car? Best Car Technology award. Such honours are well-deserved for such an exciting vehicle and reflect its quality, further demonstrating why this really is one of the most exciting new releases for January 2017.
