What's Happening in the Auto World in October?

13 October 2017

As the days get shorter, darker and colder, getting out to a car show at the weekend can be less and less tempting. There are still plenty of car shows and events going on throughout the rest of October and start of November though, with the odd new and classic car show even taking place indoors. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or looking for something to do at the weekend or in the upcoming October half-term, these are some of the best car shows coming up.

French Classic and Performance

When: 16th October

Where: Ace Café, London

A regular monthly meet every third Monday at London’s Ace Café in Stonebridge, the French Classic and Performance will appeal to any lover or owner of French manufactured vehicles. From 6pm to 11pm, the meet sees drivers of modified and performance French cars come together to show off their wonderful motors. Classics to the newest models from the likes of Peugeot, Citroën and more will all be present, whether you just want to marvel at some cool cars or pick up tips and advice from fellow French car owners.

HSCC Silverstone Finals

Where: Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire

The Silverstone Finals organised by the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) has taken place at the UK’s premier racetrack for over a decade. It includes the final races of the year for some of the classic cars, as qualifying and racing occurs over two full days. The HSCC Silverstone Finals features a range of post-war racing cars from the 1950s to the 1980s in a number of different categories, such as 70s Road Sports, Classic Formula 3 and more. It’s great racing entertainment for young and old.

WRC Wales Rally

When: 26th to 29th October

Where: Wales

The 12th and final European round of the World Rally Championship is split across three days and various special stages in Wales. A mixture of racing on public roads and special stages that take in Snowdonia, the north Wales coast and many other areas of the country is what the WRC Wales Rally is made up from. Competitors from across the world will be taking part in what promises to be an action-packed weekend. Plus, there’s the family friendly RallyFest at Cholmondeley Castle that’s great for kids as well.

Ultimate Stance 2017

When: 5th November

Where: Telford International Centre, Shropshire

As November arrives, head indoors at the Telford International Centre for Ultimate Stance. Discover some of the best stance (customised) cars on display and pick up some inspiration if you fancy modifying your own motor. With over 350 of the finest stanced show cars, there will be a huge variety of club and trade stands set up, demo vehicles and a retro display too. Plenty more entertainment including a retro arcade zone, BMX freestyle display and charity auction will be on offer.

Classic Motor Show

When: 10th to 12th October

Where: The NEC, Birmingham

The UK’s top classic car show returns to Birmingham’s NEC in November. Over 2,500 classic cars and motorbikes will be present at the Classic Motor Show from more than 240 classic car and bike clubs. 650 exhibitors will have a wide range of products and services on offer, with the UK’s largest autojumble and Silverstone Auctions present, so you can pick up some spare parts.
